MTLA donates school supplies to Carrollton Elementary students
Once again, school bells are ringing across Maryland. This year, MTLA helped jump start the school year for children attending Carrollton Elementary School in New Carrollton, Maryland, with a gift of back-to- school necessities.
On September 26, Principal John Enkiri and Assistant Principal Emmett Hendershot accepted 150 pounds of school supplies collected by MTLA’s Public Outreach Committee, which is chaired by Mandeep Chhabra.
A monetary donation was also made that will be used to defray the cost of school programs for parents, such as English classes.
Carrollton Elementary School has over 600 students and more than 75 percent are enrolled in a school-lunch program.
