MTLA Offers (Continued from page 8)
Legal Assistance. If you would like to add your name or firm to this section, please contact Michele Linck at the MTLA of- fice. There is a fee associated with this service.
More Resources and Places to Visit
The more time you can spend on the
website, the more you will find that it saves you time. My MTLA has useful links to associations, court information, state laws and codes, and research tools. The Public Resources tab has resources on pro-bono work and information on donations to MTLA’s smoke detector, bike helmet and school supplies pro- grams. Looking for a gift for a colleague or
staff member? Don’t tell anyone, but you can find some new gifts and some
old favorites in the MTLA Store. The tab is on the left-hand side of the website.
Watch for the Final Piece of the Puzzle
My family loves working puzzles. My
mother-in-law is especially skillful at “misplacing” one of the pieces, which, just so happens to be the last piece of many of our puzzles. Well, she can’t hide the final piece to our website. The Technology and Membership/
Member Services committees are fi- nalizing the logistics to the MTLA Job Bank. THIS IS GOING TO BE HUGE! Like most online job search engines, the MTLA Job Bank will offer the highest level in service and security. However, this bank will focus on the plaintiff community. As the details are finalized and the launch date approaches, you will receive more information. I could go on and on about our website, but it wouldn’t be fair to this
issue’s authors. They have done a great job submitting articles on “keeping our courthouse doors open,” and I need to save some space for them. The last thing I would like to say about
MTLA’s new website is what I always say, especially to my children, nieces and nephews – “Know it, use it, love it.” Take the time to get to know the website. Once you have, you’ll begin to use it all the time. As you do, you’re going to love it.
Special Note:
School Supplies Drive Once again, MTLA members stepped
up to the plate without a moment of hes- itation. School supplies and donations were collected at the Auto Negligence Section seminar held on September 7, for children attending a Prince George’s County elementary school. Of the 600 students, 75% are on an assisted-lunch program. Over eight boxes of supplies were collected and more than $400 in donations were received to buy addi- tional supplies and to defray the cost of school programs. This donation not only helps the children, but also helps ease a small portion of the heavy burden their families carry. Thank you for your sup- port. n
