The partnership between British Gas and British Swimming has been named the best sponsorship of the year at the industry’s equivalent of the Oscars.
British Swimming’s principle partner triumphed at the Hollis Sponsorship Awards 2011, securing two wins for their sponsorship.
Now in their 17th year, the Hollis Sponsorship Awards are the Oscars of the sponsorship industry in the UK.
British Gas won Best Sports Sponsorship of the Year, beating other big players in the field including Aviva athletics sponsorship, O2 rugby sponsorship and npower and the Football League partnership. British Gas then went on to win the Grand Prix award, securing the Hollis Sponsorship of the Year, the most prestigious award in the sponsorship industry.
This is a fantastic achievement and we are delighted that the
partnership has received such an accolade,” said Katie Brazier, British Swimming’s Director of Sponsorship.
“I believe both our sport and our principle partner British Gas have gained real tangible benefits through the delivery of joint initiatives to raise awareness, inspire, support and encourage more people to swim at every level. It’s a true testament to how effective such partnerships can be.”
Andrew Hogan, British Gas Brand Director added: “This is a huge achievement for the sponsorship and the sport in what are fiercely competitive categories.”
Says Cheshire Wellness: “One deliberate design decision was that the Mere Spa should not have a consistent ‘house style’. Every space has its own identity, so as you move from room to room there is a constantly refreshed feeling of individuality and discovery challenging one’s perceptions.
“The Mere Spa ranks as one of the finest in the UK and is another example of the signature creativity of Cheshire Wellness.”
