‘Thorny Issues’

We are now approaching the end of our first year in the industry and what a year it has been.

In recent months we have been approached by many of our readers who have expressed opinions regarding many of the issues which have been of concern.

There are 3 main points to make on why we are very pleased that this has happened:

1. We live in a society which allows people to voice their opinions openly

2. The people involved in the industry care so much about what is happening that they choose to voice those opinions

3. Wind Energy Network is trusted with this information and is expected to deal with each individual item in the most effective way possible, so that something may happen to solve the problem

DEALINGWITH INFORMATION

Item 3 is very difficult to deal with but because we believe we are politically aware, and that we have the best interests of the industry at heart in the long term, we can help to get people together and focus on a common goal.

PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS AND ORGANISATIONS

As reported on many occasions we are keen to support the industry associations and organisations, which are set up to help the industry as a whole.

To this end we will be featuring the work of RenewableUK, starting with an overview article in the next issue. We will then follow this up in future editions and cover various subject areas, including interviews and how policy is set and implemented.

By featuring RenewableUK within an independent publication, we believe it will help understanding throughout the wind energy industry and focus on what is important – the industry’s success both now, and in the future.
