COMPANY FOCUS

PIPESHIELD INTERNATIONAL LTD A RELATIVELY NEW COMPANY WITH EXPERIENCED PERSONNEL

Pipeshield International is a young company with an ‘old head’ on its shoulders. Formed in 1998 but with in excess of 100 years combined offshore experience amongst its Directors and senior management, it has established itself as a leader in subsea pipeline & cable protection.

Pipeshield® is a well known and highly reputable brand in the offshore oil and gas arena, and now one that is gathering momentum in the renewable sector. With a diverse product offering and an international outlook, the company has been a valued supplier to some of the world’s most prominent energy companies since its inception by its Managing Director, Steve Howlett.

MISSION AND INTENT

Pipeshield’s core business provides specialised subsea pipeline and cable protection systems that support, protect and stabilise all kinds of subsea installations worldwide. Pipeshield are proud to have won two Queen’s Awards for Innovation and International trade in 2004 and are preparing a future award submission. The company’s business statement is simply “To be the best by providing the best: Product, Service and Value”

SPECIALITY

Scour – a previous yearlong study, undertaken in collaboration with an oil & gas major and a leading research establishment to better understand prevent and manage scour, which is a frequent issue in the Offshore Renewables environment, has given them an edge in products that mange and combat this issue.

CLEAR VISION – PROVIDING SOLUTIONS

Pipeshield International Ltd has a clear vision for the future in Renewables. They want newcomers to the offshore energy industry to benefit from their vast experience in this area, and its ability to provide solutions rather than simply products.

Pipeshield professionally designs and engineers exact, cost effective, bespoke solutions for any subsea installation or operational situation, adapted to each client's unique requirements. For simpler applications, tried and tested ‘off the shelf’ products are also available, suitable for a wide range of applications such as high performance concrete blankets, grout bags etc. A central goal is to build momentum for Pipeshield’s core business in the global energy industry.

DIVERSITY

Diversity is a key strength, and Pipeshield is constantly developing and enhancing its offering. One product that is now attracting attention is its ADCP (Advanced Drill Cutting Process) system, a piece of kit developed to remove hydrocarbon from offshore drill waste and soil remediation. Having won the East of England Energy Group Innovation Award in 2007, the ADCP is currently on a six month extended contract in Albania’s land-based rigs, and its successful deployment will help to launch it to the offshore industry.
