from health problems, the Queen of Soul plans to celebrate her 69th birthday in a big way in New York City. Aretha Franklin has scheduled a birthday party for March 25th
at a luxury hotel with performances and special guests. The music legend underwent surgery
late last year in Detroit, Michigan for an undisclosed ailment. Since then, she’s lost more than 80 pounds. Franklin has said the weight loss was because of a change in diet and exercise. The Grammy Award- winning singer also recently released an album with Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Since her surgery, Franklin has been working out and walking on a track three times a week for at least a mile. But she said her biggest health change
has been in her diet: She’s given up her beloved chitterlings, pigs’ feet and ham hocks in favor of a Whole Foods-type diet, and she hopes to get down to a size 16. ”They’re off my diet.
