Meet Robyn Gooden New York Power Authority’s Lead SAP Basis Administrator


ooden began work at NYPA in 1985 as a word processing operator in a typist pool, and has been promoted seven times in 25 years.

In 1998, she was asked to be part of a team overseeing the implementation of SAP, a re- source planning application designed to help companies move various business activities to software-based and Web services-based solutions. Work- ing long hours with the SAP consultants, Gooden quickly made herself NYPA’s resident expert on the new software.


In 2007, Gooden was promot- ed to her current position— overseeing a system that has grown to include 20 servers and 17 components touching every aspect of NYPA’s work, from payroll for its more than 1,600 employees to inventory control and billing.


“I feel very fortunate to have grown up in a company that has allowed me to build a career and also get to my sons’ football games,” said


Gooden. “I’m really looking forward to my next 25 years at the Power Authority.”
