MUSICIAN Spotlight
O PULSE MAGAZINE
ne of the greatest joys of being blessed with the gift of music is performing with other musicians who have the same
interests. As a working musician in the SWFL area, I'm constantly performing with other musicians. One such individual is my friend and amazing local artist, Mark Fogel. Mark and I share similar musical tastes, and have performed dozens of gigs together throughout the years. Mark Fogel was born in Brooklyn, NY
and graduated from Brooklyn College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a major in Classical Guitar and a minor in Piano and Education. After grad- uating, Mark spent several seasons as a bandleader at several hotels in the Catskills area of NY. Talented in all contemporary
styles of music, Mark has performed or recorded with many well known figures of the modern era music industry. In
addition to releasing two solo albums, Homegrown and Home Again, he has played in the pit for many off Broadway shows, the Big Apple Circus, and with many of the entertainment agencies and orchestras in the NYC area. A former certi- fied NYC teacher, Mark has over twenty years of teaching and performing experi- ence. He is also the former head of SAMI (Sam Ash Music Institute).

his third solo offering. He is also in the studio finishing up guitar tracks for the soon-to-be-released album from the Naples based country-rock band, The Gully Washers.
While he was in Naples working with Newly relocated to SWFL, Mark has
already performed in most of the finest venues and with some of the top entertain- ers in our area. You can see him play in local hotels, country clubs, finer restau- rants, and various upscale cultural events. He also performs as half of the popular duo, Mr. & Mrs., featuring his wife, Diane, on vocals. Mark has many musical influ- ences from a wide range of music genres. He says, "Carlos Santana, Leslie West, Joe Pass, Django Reinhardt, Danny Gatton, Wes Montgomery, Robben Ford, Albert Lee
a top NYC corporate band, The Alan Kane Orchestra, Mark fell in love with the area and has since become a full-time resident. I'm glad Mark and Diane chose to relocate to and work in our area. I can't find words to express how much I enjoy performing with Mark, and if you have not heard him yet, you should definitely make an effort to do so. He is in the Master Class of LIVE music entertainment!
