DIRECTOR OF BIOSTATISTICS
Children’s Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School
The Clinical Research Program at Children’s Hospital, Boston and Harvard Medical
School seek candidates for the position of Director of Biostatistics at the level of As-
sistant or Associate Professor. The Program currently provides biostatistics and data
management support for ongoing observational studies and clinical trials from several
departments in the Hospital.
The Director’s position is responsible for the daily oversight and scientific direction of
the Biostatistics Core in the Clinical Research Program. This individual will supervise
the faculty and staff of the Core, provide senior-level statistical and study design ex-
pertise for the development of grant applications and for ongoing studies, interact with
clinical investigators on the design, implementation, and analysis of clinical studies, pur-
sue new opportunities for programmatic growth and research funding, and participate in
teaching seminars on biostatistics to clinical faculty.
Qualified candidates must have a have a Ph.D. in Biostatistics or Statistics, a minimum
of seven to ten years experience in clinical research, and demonstrated ability in the de-
sign and conduct of clinical studies. The successful candidate should have a strong record
of collaborative research and peer-reviewed publications, outstanding communications
skills, strong and proven experience managing statisticians as well as leadership and team
skills, and a professional orientation toward service. Faculty appointment will be at the
Harvard Medical School in a clinical department relevant to the candidate’s expertise.
