The world in an island

A rich culture, stunning natural scenery and a progressive business environment ensure a warm welcome in Puerto Rico, no matter what the reason for visiting.

P

uerto Rico’s enduring appeal is evident in the huge number of air routes from the island, bringing in tourists and business people alike and providing the local population with access to international markets and destinations. Every week, travellers from more than 1,100 non-stop flights from 50 destinations pass through the main gateway, Luis Munoz Marín International Airport.

Not surprisingly, the regional market benefits most from an exhaustive selection of stops, with the Caribbean and the US both well served. All the main cities in the US are connected to Puerto Rico’s capital, San Juan, for example, with flights provided by American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, Sun Country Airlines and United Airlines. Further north, WestJet and Air Canada connect to Toronto while Avianca, Copa and Volaris provide Latin American connectivity to Bogota, Panama and Cancun respectively. Internationally, London, Copenhagen,

Oslo and Stockholm are served by Norwegian, Condor flies to Frankfurt and Air Europa operates to Madrid. Not surprisingly, the top European markets for visitors to Puerto Rico are covered by these flights; Spain tops the list, followed by Germany, the UK and Scandinavia.
