American Golf appoints the Golf Foundation
E
urope’s largest golf retailer,
American Golf has announced that it will be supporting the Golf Foundation this year. “We’re real admirers of the work that the Golf
Foundation does. Golf has been an important part of my life since I was 7 years old, so, like a lot of the staff here, I want as many children as possible to experience the same sense of enjoyment that I did teeing off on my local course,” comments Daniel Gathercole, head of marketing at American Golf. The Golf Foundation will be the sole beneficiary of
profits from several new events that American Golf will be launching later this year, including the first American Golf Junior Championship. Sarah Tennyson, the Golf Foundation’s marketing
Alongside Mizuno, Lewis has become a leading light in US golf, the first American in twenty- one years to bring home all three prestigious LPGA season honours – LPGA Rolex Player of the Year, Vare Trophy and Money List Title. In addition to Stacy’s Mizuno irons and wedges, the extension covers a return to a Mizuno driver. Lewis teed up at Thailand’s HONDA event with a JPX850 FAST TRACK for the first time. “I’m excited to start the 2015 campaign on the right foot by re-signing with Mizuno,” said
Lewis. "Mizuno has been my equipment company since college, and as I pursue more wins, I’m really happy to keep the team intact that has been so central to my success." Lewis is poised to build on a stellar 2014 LPGA campaign that resulted in wins at the North
Texas LPGA Shootout, Shoprite LPGA Classic and the Wal-Mart NW Arkansas Championship. Lewis secured her spot atop the podium at the season-ending Rolex Award reception by earning three wins, eighteen top-10 finishes and led the LPGA in rounds under par. Stacy finished the year No. 3 in the world, No.1 on Tour in birdies, and second in Greens in Regulation. Lewis will play Mizuno’s JPX850 driver, fairway and hybrid, alongside JPX850 Boron Forged irons and MP-T5 wedges.
