UKGCOA appoints Andrew Lloyd-Skinner as full time Chief Executive
T
he UK Golf Course Owners Association (UKGCOA) has appointed Andrew Lloyd-Skinner
as its full-time Chief Executive Officer. Having been the part-time Chief Executive of the UKGCOA for the past year and a half, Lloyd-Skinner took up his role on a full time basis from 1st January 2015. Lloyd-Skinner has been the proprietor and operator of a
golf facility in Essex for over 10 years and serves on the UKGCOA Board of Directors and has passed on his responsibilities at his golf business to family members giving him the time to concentrate solely on the UKGCOA. Speaking of his appointment, he said: “Having been
involved with the UKGCOA for over four years as a member and board member, I have become acutely aware how important it is for golf course owners and operators to be able to access relevant help and advice from the vast experience and knowledge we possess amongst our industry contacts and particularly our Board members, who are all golf facility owners and operators. “The UKGCOA is now recognised by golf’s governing
bodies as the body that represents the interests of golf facility owners and operators, so is regularly consulted on all projects that may have an impact on the commercial interests of golf course operators. “I am delighted that I have been offered the opportunity
to lead the UKGCOA through the exciting and changing times ahead for the golf industry and especially that I can now dedicate myself to the role on a full time basis.” The Association Manager Debbie Goddard and
colleagues from the Federation of Sports and Play Associations will continue to support the organisation at their offices at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire.
