Paperless Lab Academy, 14 to 15 April, Barcelona, Spain


he theme of this year’s Paperless Lab Academy will be how to ‘Manage the change process’ in both R&D and QA/ QC laboratories in pharmaceutical,

biotechnology, consumer goods, and chemical industries. Managing change in daily operations applies to application and system soſtware; people related aspects (behavioural change); adoption of changes in work processes, from paper to paper-on-glass, collaboration, externalisation; consolidation of legacy systems; and adopting new technologies such as cloud, mobile, big data, and PLM. Te academy includes 16 hands-on workshops; practical presentations; networking reception (sponsored by Scientific Computing World); conference dinner; and live demonstrations from over 20 leading suppliers. Te lion’s share of chemical R&D today is being outsourced to external organisations. Enterome Bioscience will discuss how big shiſts in the pharmaceutical industry, together with a cooling of VC funding opportunities for biotech start-ups, have led to start-ups relying more and more on virtualisation to optimise their performance.
