collaborative research, a new paradigm in todays’ scientific industry. Te workshop will take place at 12.30pm on Wednesday 15th April. www.dotmatics.com

LabWare will be showcasing the latest versions of its LIMS and ELN. LabWare’s Enterprise Laboratory Platform (ELP) is a unique and proven suite of product capabilities that encompass LIMS, ELN and LES method execution in an integrated and enterprise ready solution. Te Enterprise Laboratory Platform

combines LabWare LIMS and LabWare ELN, a comprehensive and fully integrated Electronic Laboratory Notebook application, which enables companies to optimise compliance, improve quality, increase productivity, and reduce costs. www.labware.com

At the Paperless Lab Academy, Mestrelab Research Sl will be exhibiting a series of cloud- based tools for the management of laboratory data (ELN, compound registration system, electronic archiving), as well as solutions for the automated processing and analysis of analytical data (NMR, LCMS, GCMS, etc.). Te solutions are deployed with a combination of zero- footprint web browser interfaces and native support for mobile devices (iOS, Android), and are therefore first-in-class particularly for the mobile case. A demonstration at the booth will enhance attendees’ understanding of how their workflows may be improved by the availability of data and analysis capabilities everytime, everywhere within their laboratory. www.mestrelab.com

Having recently launched its revitalised ELN soſtware, E-WorkBook 10,

IDBS will be in attendance to facilitate a joint workshop on building the bridge between ELNs and analytical data. Run in conjunction with IDBS’ partner

ACD/Labs, the session will discuss proof-of-concept workflows for platform integration and focus on the next step in lab informatics for analytical sciences – leveraging ‘live’ analytical data for searching, retrieving, re-processing and interpretation. Paul Denny-Gouldson, VP strategic solutions, will present on how lab layout and ergonomics can impact usability of scientific soſtware. www.idbs.com

PerkinElmer delivers a comprehensive suite of scientific informatics and soſtware solutions from instrument-generated data, to enterprise solutions to mobile applications, providing scientists with the necessary tools to aggregate, search, mine, analyse and visualise critical data to help turn data into actionable insights in an automated, predictive and scalable way. At the Paperless Lab Academy, the company

will be showcasing its collaboration platform E-Notebook and its scientific data analytics solution Tibco Spotfire. It will present a workshop entitled ‘Te data odyssey: E-Notebook and Spotfire the solution for scientists’. In addition, Colin Grey from the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency will highlight how the agency is using the data analytics power of Spotfire to address its research problems in his talk, titled ‘Improving the impact of data through the use of data analysis, modelling, and reporting‘. www.perkinelmer.com/informatics

Stratec will be presenting a new soſtware product, Aurora Vigilant, that is designed to manage and monitor routine laboratory tasks to ensure guidelines and SOPs are followed correctly. Te company will present the results of a pilot project (beta test site) where Aurora Vigilant soſtware was utilised to schedule, record, and monitor electronically those routine tasks normally recorded using ‘paper records’ in the clinical chemistry and blood bank laboratories of Burton Hospital NHS Trust in the UK. Routine tasks were completed and the fact of completion was recorded using a portable handheld PDA device. Tis addition to Stratec’s Aurora range alerts users when a scheduled routine maintenance is due to be performed thus making compliance easier and taking the hassle out of laboratory inspections. www.stratec.com/en

Waters has released a new version of its NuGenesis Lab Management System. Improvements include NuGenesis SampleShare, an optional, secure web-client for sample submissions and results management; NuGenesis Stability, a stability protocol management and testing solution to facilitate a regimented workflow across lab operations; NuGenesis Connectors, a bi-directional link between lab systems and business applications; and Paradigm Scientific Search, a fully integrated scientific search solution. Te NuGenesis Lab Management System is a user-centric platform that aims to provide the benefits of a Scientific Data Management System (SDMS), Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) and Laboratory Execution System (LES) within one solution. www.waters.com
