Fitzpatrick, Goyen named JGAA’s best

who is the grandson of noted Arizona professional Hub Goyen, finished in the top 10 in 12 tournaments, including five runner-up finishes. He is a 15-year-old sophomore at Highland High School.


Other age-group


winners included Kyle Peterson of Peoria and Scottsdale’s Ocean Pangan in the 15-18 group; Alejandro De Zavala of Chandler and Scottsdale’s Isabella Cantwell in the 13-14; Daniel Thompson of Phoenix and


Surprise’s Ashley Menne in the 11-12; and Nicklaus Nuez of Laveen and Phoenix’s Abbey Schutte in the 10-and-under division.


Postillion captures Stroke Play he 40th AWGA


Stroke Play Championship this fall


was one of the most dramatic tournaments in recent memory, as a lively duel between Samantha Postillion and Kim Cifuentes unfolded over three days of play on the Outlaw Course at Desert Mountain. Postillion had a


one-stroke lead going into the final day, but struggled early and was three shots down to Cifuentes at the turn. Then Postillion caught fire on the back nine with

Brandel Chamblee was the guest speaker for the event, while JGAA Executive Director Scott McNevin served as emcee. “The JGAA is proud to


play a role in the incredible growth of our members, as they strive to be champions in golf and in life,” McNevin said. “This event allows the organization to recognize our youth members for their hard work, skill and achievements throughout the year.” n


Eaton claims Senior Stroke,


11th career win Kim Eaton captured her 11th AWGA title in early October, winning another Senior Stroke Play Championship, this time at Peoria’s Blackstone Country Club. The victory ties Eaton with Donna Cunning for most AWGA senior titles. Eaton was heavily favored going
