DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS OFFERED FOR EDUCATION US Lacrosse has created two new scholarship

opportunities to provide underrepresented communities with additional lacrosse education and instruction. The US Lacrosse Coaching Education Program (CEP) Scholarship will provide access to clinics, while the US Lacrosse Convention Scholarship will give coaches an opportunity to attend the sport’s premier educational event. HEADGEAR SPECS GO TO BALLOT

The evolution of headgear for girls’ and women’s lacrosse reached a significant milestone in September, as the performance standard that will define the product’s manufacturing specifications entered the first of two balloting phases among members of ASTM, the international organization that develops technical standards for products in the marketplace. Two years ago, US Lacrosse joined forces with equipment manufacturers, product testing laboratories, researchers and other governing bodies to work with ASTM to develop a standard for protection based on scientific research. None of the headgear products currently on the market have been developed based on scientific testing. ASTM’s two balloting approval phases are expected to conclude by early 2015.
