New Goodlight G360 LED SON lamps
ioneering the use of MagLev fan technology with LED in a UK first, the new range of Goodlight G360 LED SON replacement lamps is set to shake up the retrofit SON market. Frequently, the problem of
P
noisy fans in traditional SON- style LED lamps has been exacerbated by the high failure rates of the fans themselves. To eliminate this problem, the Goodlight G360 LED SON replacement lamps incorporate patented MagLev (magnetic levitation) fan technology. As a result, the new fans generate less than 0.5dB, making them almost silent in operation. The incorporation of MagLev fan technology,
matched to an
ingenious heat sink, ensures that the new range of Goodlight G360 LED SON replacement lamps provides a unique thermal management system. This means that the lamps utilise higher powered LED chips – achieving 140 lumens per watt - to operate ultra reliably at temperatures above 70°C thereby achieving unparalleled brightness across a wide range of industrial, commercial and street lighting applications.

Bright idea from CPN set to revolutionise the market for electrical consumer units
nnovative UK manufacturer CPN is raising awareness of its unique LED illuminated consumer unit called ‘Lumo’ with distributors and wholesalers following an upswing in demand from contractors and end-users alike.
I
Lumo, which was highly commended at the 2013 Electrical Industry Awards, is fitted with an in-built LED to allow the user to easily reset a tripped circuit breaker without having to fumble in the dark for a torch. This has clear benefits for the convenience and safety of the user and presents an added value proposition for contractors or facilities managers working with local authorities and housing associations, especially in properties where a replacement consumer unit needs to be fitted in a dark location, such as under the stairs.
Jason Hallam, CPN UK Specification Manager, said: “The Lumo illuminated consumer unit is an

innovative product solution which is being received enthusiastically by contractors and end-users that instantly recognise the value of this product.
“We’re delighted to be leading the way in the future of electrical consumer units and pride ourselves on listening to customers who have come to know and expect innovation and quality from the CPN range of consumer units, enclosures, and circuit protection devices.”
Available in three different sizes up to 22 ways and conforming to BS EN60439-3 , the Lumo promises durability through its UK engineered components. For added convenience the LED strip is powered by a standard, easy-to-access battery that the owner can simply replace.
The Lumo is now available to order as part of a new CPN-Cudis 17th Edition consumer unit.

The ‘Carbon’ range is an ideal replacement for compact fluorescent downlights and comes in a range of sizes that match the most common ceiling cut outs, so perfect for retrofits. Whilst the ‘Atom’ range downlights has been designed for dwellings as a fire rated downlight. Atom has been fully tested in the UK to 30, 60 and 90 minute fire resistance and also to the requirements of building regulations approved documents C and E, whilst also complying to part L. Atom is rated at just 7 watts, meaning greater than a 80% energy saving over the typical 50 watt halogen downlight. The ‘Atlas’ bulkhead range comes in 4 basic variants; standard, emergency and both versions with the addition of a microwave presence detector for added savings. The sensor versions allow Atlas to be switched to zero or 10% output when full illumination is not needed. This feature of a low output is ideal for circulation areas to avoid them being totally dark, making the area feel safer to enter. Atlas was conceived to eliminate all of the issues associated with 2D bulkheads such as poor life from frequent switching, unsightly lamp images, long warm up times etc. And is complemented by a range of die cast housing accessories that simply fit around the bulkhead for use in exposed locations. New additions to the range include linear luminaires for education areas (Academy) and an IP65 range (Climate) for industrial applications and car parks. Both of these product lines are available in versions that use LED T8 tubes or integral LED arrays that have been designed to mimic fluorescent. The Luceco range is completed by floodlights for domestic and commercial applications, highbays, emergency lighting and both LED lamps and tube for retrofitting existing tungsten and fluorescents. Backed by the BG heritage, Luceco not only has the full portfolio of products - many of which are designed and manufactured in-house - but also has the knowledge and expertise from people with many years industry experience. This has enabled accreditation from the Carbon Trust as a trusted supplied of your LED products.
