Ventilation Care homes go carbon neutral
and Silavent Curzon fans from Polypipe Ventilation, manufacturer of energy-saving domestic and light commercial ventilation systems, have been specified and installed in private sector care homes across the UK by LNT Construction. The solution is help- ing make the buildings more car- bon neutral.
Committed to building 1,000 beds per year predominantly for its own care home group Ideal Care Homes, LNT Construction has won a number of awards for its design and build. The care homes are purpose built, with the well-being of the residents of uppermost importance.

winning formula: “Considering the present economic climate, Polypipe has responded very well to our requirements and are working with us to develop a new Curzon fan that gives us the
opportunity to make our buildings more carbon neutral”. Domus PV Low Profile 225 is used across LNT care homes. An ultra low profile system (234 x 29mm), the PV Low Profile 225 design enables con-
cealment when installed along the top of wall units or when fitted in ceiling voids, cavity walls and other confined spaces. Domus duct systems are specifically designed to optimise air flow energy-efficiency, with minimal air leakage and moisture leakage from condensate eliminated. The Domus ducting is being used with Silavent Curzon fans from Polypipe. Described as a quiet centrifugal fan, complying with building regulations (F1), they are nonetheless said to be very powerful and are designed to perform well when working with longer duct runs, making them suited for use in larger properties such as care homes. Curzon fans come with a large range of options including pull-cord, timer and humidity control.
Domus ducting and Silavent Curzon fans have been installed in Ideal Care Homes in Bolton on Dearn, Sutton In Ashfield, Wigan and West Bromwich, with two more to be completed in Stockport and Bulwell.
