High Bay KNX Detection from CP Electronics C
Wieland’s RST MINI – a small connector with maximum IP protection
of RST MINI, the smallest connector on the market. It is a 5 pole system consisting of connectors for on- site installation,
W appliance connectors for
integration into housings, re-wireable components and pre-formed cables ready for connection. The RST MINI system has a high IP rating of up to IP69 and has also been designed for use with 3 and 4 pole electric supplies. The RST MINI system utilises the new Twistlock technology whereby connectors interlock automatically on connection. Unlocking follows the ‘bayonet’ principle through a slight rotation of the locking ring. In the optional ‘safelock’ position, the connection can only be opened using a screwdriver which eliminates the possibility of unintentional disconnection. Wieland’s RST MINI system also reduces installation errors by using mechanical and colour coding which means that it is only possible to join connectors that match one another.

Megaman Lamps Provide the Energy Saving at The Cotton Rooms
nergy saving lighting expert Megaman has supplied its 2w Pygmy LED dimming lamps to The Cotton Rooms, a 35 bedroom boutique hotel for patients being treated at UCLH (University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust). The simple retrofit installation has significantly helped to reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs within the facility. The original 25w pygmy lamps installed in a large chandelier within the reception area were forcing staff to cope with a variety of problems with the lighting. The lamps were failing regularly and, with limited maintenance staff on site to replace the lamps, this was causing disruption to the busy reception area. Local electrical wholesaler CEF was asked for advice on the situation and recommended a simple change to Megaman’s 2w Pygmy dimming lamps. Part of Megaman’s Decorative LED series, the pygmy lamps provide 50,000 hours life with instant start up and 80% reduction in energy.

Glass protective film option from Dialight
D
ialight (LSE: DIA.L), the world leader in LED lighting technology, has introduced a new glass protection film as an option to the SafeSite® LED High Bay range for improved safety in hazardous areas. It is particularly suited to food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, where the prevention of glass contamination within the product lines is of paramount importance. With a thin, clear plastic film added to the exterior surface of the glass lens on the SafeSite LED High Bay, food industries can be reassured that glass contamination will not occur. If the glass lens suffers damage from any external impact, any small fragments of glass will be contained within the film, avoiding any health and safety issues and possible production line closures. The easy to clean SafeSite LED High Bay is resistant to harsh and dusty environments and operates in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +65°C.
