Putt is alive and well. It’s a hip San Francisco take on the 19th hole. Or, in this case, a 15th hole. The bar and restaurant spared no expenses in building the most exotic 14 miniature golf course you will find, as the project cost more than $800,000.

interpretation of mini-golf than had ever done before,” Fox said. “Something that would have both a feeling of min-

iature golf and a lovely art installation.” Urban Putt feels like a routing

through a crazy hybrid of an art gallery, tech museum and bar. It’s very much a 3-dimensional experience, with holes often taking up more space vertically than horizontally in the cozy confines. You’ve heard of greens referred to as dance floors? At Urban Putt, your ball is propelled by the Archimedes’ Principal, plays a drum solo and takes a sporty ride through a Dia de los Muertos hole. Green fees range from $8 to $12

San Francisco is cleverly woven into the course as well, from a reenactment of the 1906 Earthquake, to holes that play through the Transamerica Pyramid, the Painted Ladies, Lotta’s Fountain and the Little Giant Gold Hydrant.
