Dana Point Turkey Trot The Dana Point Turkey Trot, one of California’s most scenic coastal runs, is hosted by the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce. With over 11,000 participants, it’s California’s second largest Thanksgiving Day run and the sixth largest in the country. The annual event draws an estimated total attendance of around 17,000, including spectators, who come to watch the action, enjoy the beauty of Dana Point Harbor and Doheny State Beach and check out the variety of fun costumes worn by participants. The event includes a 10K, 5K, Kids’ 1K Gobble Wobble and two-day Health and Well- ness Expo. Proceeds benefit local charities. The Dana Point

illuminOcean Forty nights of holiday lights will be on display from November 24 through January 4. The harbor will be transformed into a wonderland by the sea with over a mile of sea sculptures and lighting attractions. From moving light wave tunnels to gigantic whales, illuminOcean will light up the night in the Dana Point Harbor. Event is free to the public.
Center Events Headlands Nature Tours explore the ecology and natural history of the Dana Point Headlands during a docent-led 1.5-mile walk. The free tours take ap- proximately two hours and are held on the first Saturday of each month and start at the Nature Interpretive Center, 34558 Scenic Drive. For more information or to register, call 949.542.4755. Headlands His- tory Tours occur on the third Sunday of each month and have rotating themes related to area history.
Dana Point Farmers Market Dana Point
Farmers Markets Farmers Markets are held every Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. downtown at La Plaza Park and on Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Capo Beach Church in Capistrano Beach. On the first Saturday of each month the hours are extended to 3 p.m. to include a craft fair.
