Art, Antiques, Thrift and More With an ever changing selection from elegant


to funky, 2nd Hand Treasures is a must see for antique collectors and thrifters. The Coastal Arcadian is just the place for art collectors, beading enthusiasts and those looking for an eclectic selection of American-made products. This trio of stores also hosts craft workshops and cultural events such as music, dance and other performances.


Farmers Markets The city is home to two farmers markets, each


brimming with farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, arts and crafts. One is held each Satur- day at La Plaza Park in the Lantern District and the other on Wednesdays at Capo Beach Church in the downtown area of Capistrano Beach.


Dana Point, the Historical Society hosts special programs on local history, holds an annual historic home tour and maintains a museum filled with related articles and artifacts at City Hall. The group also offers historical walking tours of the area.


The Ocean Institute In addition to teaching ocean ecology, the Ocean


Institute also provides programs celebrating the rich maritime history of the area. The Institute is even home to two tall ships, the Spirit of Dana Point and the brig Pilgrim.


Bluff Top Trail A special place to see remnants of the city’s past,


the historic Bluff Top Trail provides a bird’s eye view of the Harbor and coastline below. As you stroll along the trail, beginning at the terminus of Violet Lantern, you pass the Hide Drougher statue, depicting a trader from the 1830s tossing hides from the cliffs to ships waiting below. The trail also passes through arch ruins of the Dana Point Inn, abandoned and left unfinished in the 1930s due to the Depression.

Nightlife in Dana Point centers on the city’s most popular restaurants and taverns with delicious food, libations, live music, dancing and a lively clientele.


A Night on the Town StillWater Spirits & Sounds, Hennessey’s Tavern, Turk’s, Wind & Sea, Sunsets Capo Beach and Brio Tuscany Grille are a few of the best places for a fun evening out on the town. From live bands and open mic nights to dinner and dancing, Dana Point has plenty to do when the sun goes down.
