As well as staging some of the great classics of musical theatre, it has also created a considerable and important body of new music theatre works for performance by young people. Some of these brilliant and inspirational young performers — alumni include Jessie J, Sue Perkins, Jonny Lee Miller, Tom Chambers and Eddie Redmayne — have gone on to enrich the professional stage. Te world of smartphone and mobile apps have taken humanity by storm. Millions of apps are being downloaded every year reaching numbers as high as 100 billion. While a vast majority of these apps are created by independent developers and established firms, there is a new trend on the rise. Here are three examples of how we should never underestimate the intelligence of the young.


New trend on the rise A few months ago, a new game in the Apple App


Store knocked the mighty ‘Angry Birds’ from its first place spot. Entitled ‘Bubble Ball’, the game took the number one spot in the ‘Free Downloads’ section of the App Store, with more than two million hits within the first two weeks of its launch. What made this event even more significant was the fact that a 14-year-old created it. Robert Nay, now of naygames.com, was shocked to find that his game was beating a game that is almost as famous as the iPhone itself. Ten there’s Tomas Suarez, who not only taught


himself to develop apps (his company is CarrotCorp Inc), but is a speaker of TED Talks. Tis 12-year-old boy genius created games such as ‘Bustin Jieber’, a Justin Bieber ‘Whac-A-Mole’ game where players

When he was 16, he received backing from Rupert Murdoch, Aston Kutcher and even some of the original investors in Facebook and Siri.
