GLOBAL CERTIFICATION FOR RAISBECK ENGINEERING CONTINUES AS EASA CERTIFIES RAISBECK SWEPT BLADE PROPELLERS FOR KING AIR C90/E90

Raisbeck Engineering’s Swept Blade Propellers for the King Air C90 series have been certifi ed by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The request for the STC was submitted to the FAA on January 9th, 2014 and offi cial approval was received on March 21st, 2014. “Our new Swept Blade Propellers were designed to the current standards of the FAA. This allowed for a quick and very smooth process when requesting the STC from EASA,” says Bill Lally, vice president of customer Support. Lally leads all of Raisbeck’s certifi cation coordination globally. When included in the EPIC Performance Package for the C90 and E90 series, the STC for Raisbeck’s Swept Blade Propellers allows full operational use of increased takeoff (10,500 lbs) and landing (9,700 lbs) weights, improved FAA-Certifi ed takeoff and landing fi eld-length performance, better climb and cruise performance, and overall quieter operations through reduced climb and cruise RPM. James Raisbeck, CEO and Founder of Raisbeck

Engineering, says, “Receiving the STC from EASA on the new Swept Blade Propellers is simply another step in Raisbeck’s goal to stay certifi ed in every corner of the globe.” For more information, visit www.raisbeck.com.

ARGUS RELEASES 2013 SMS AUDIT RESULTS REPORT ARGUS International, Inc. (ARGUS) announces the release of its 2013 SMS Audit Results report. The objective of the report is to highlight those recurring defi ciencies found in SMS implementation and execution. A view into the industry-wide aperture helps aviation operators focus their eff orts on common defi ciency areas cited by auditors, and use this information to improve their own SMS implementation and execution eff orts. Each year, ARGUS PROS audits a signifi cant number of operators from both private and commercial fl ight operations. All aspects of the fl ight operation are reviewed during each audit, to include the organization’s safety management system. The report is a summary of those audit results, compared

to the ARGUS Platinum Standard and IS-BAO, in the measure of safety management eff ectiveness. These audits follow a “systems” and “process” methodology, and are exclusively focused on compliance. The goal of each audit is to seek evidence of eff ective and effi cient operations and industry best practices, including implementation of a safety management system (SMS) as defi ned by IS-BAO and FAA AC120-92A. The majority of the 2013 audit fi ndings point to

defi ciencies in Internal Evaluation Programs (IEP) and Safety Training. An IEP is especially important because of
