woven into the base layer delivers surface traction and tremendous grip control in wet weather without sacrificing the comfort of the connection. The outer layer of the UTx is a firmer ACE 3GEN compound designed to limit torque and minimize shot dispersion, a quality particularly important with the forces at play in golfers with higher swing speeds.
Fundamental to the new UTx grip is the ACE 3GEN compound that makes up both the softer base layer and firmer outer layer. ACE 3GEN is Lamkin’s patented super-tacky material that provides unmatched vibration dampening, superior durability and a level of surface tack that allows golfers to maintain a tension-free grip.
With the performance layering technology in the UTx providing golfers with a secure, comfortable connection whatever the weather, it’s no surprise that many Tour players have been keen to try out the grips. And with a growing stable of Tour players and official representatives such as Justin Rose, it won’t be long before the UTx sits atop of the leaderboard come Sunday aſternoon.
Colour comes to ACE 3GEN
Another grip range for 2014 to benefit from Lamkin’s proprietary ACE 3GEN material is its R.E.L range. The R.E.L line of grips offers the widest assortment of colour and size combinations of any grip in golf. Now the range has been given the benefit of Lamkin’s most advanced materials to provide performance benefits to match the choice on offer.
“When creating new products, the Lamkin team is singularly focused on one key factor: optimizing player performance. Our goal with ACE 3GEN technology is to provide golfers with an extremely secure and comfortable gripping connection so they can confidently swing with a light-pressure grip,” said Lamkin CEO, Bob Lamkin. “By eliminating tension from their grip, a player eliminates hand and arm tension, delivering longer and more consistent shots.”
The unique i-LINE range The most distinctive
feel of any Lamkin grip And finally for 2014, coming soon to the UK market is the i-LINE grip that Bob Lamkin has described as “the most distinctive feeling grip we’ve ever created.”
Utilising an advanced thermoplastic grip material, the i-LINE provides unmatched lateral traction and a secure, slip resistant grip. This unique compound offers a soſt, tacky feel and excellent torsion control, combining material and texture to maximize grip comfort and control over golf shots. With a full range of grip sizes and bold colour options, the look and feel of the i-LINE is set to give golfers a real alternative to anything they’ve played with before.

Surface Texture: Lamkin grips are available in a wide range of surface textures. When selecting a grip, golfers should choose a texture that feels comfortable and secure. If a player doesn’t wear a glove, they may prefer a grip with less pattern and a smoother feel. Some players prefer a rougher texture on their grips because it provides more hand traction and gripping confidence.
Firmness: Lamkin’s maximum performance grips such as UTx or Crossline ACE 3GEN have a firmer feel for superior torsion control that is well suited for players with high swing speeds. Comfort grips such as R.E.L ACE 3GEN or i-LINE are softer feeling and ideal for players with lower swing speeds or those who prefer a tackier connection
Weather conditions: For golfers playing in wet and humid climates, special care should be taken to select the right golf grip. Grips that include cord fabric are especially helpful in creating extra traction in wet conditions, however for many players, cord grips are too aggressive for their hands. Lamkin’s UTx grip is the perfect solution to this problem, offering superb wet weather performance with all-weather comfort.
With a level of choice unmatched in golf and the performance benefits of the ACE 3GEN compound, this new range of golf grips further extends Lamkin’s ambition to provide a grip to suit every golfer.
