Lamkin Grips introduces its new grips for 2014, including the all-weather UTx, and offers some pointers on helping customers get a grip on their game

T

he original manufacturer of Premium golf grips, Lamkin grips, is entering its 89th year of trading with a range of

products that offer every golfer the chance to find a grip to suit their hands, their eye, the conditions in which they play and the connection they want with their clubs. With a tradition to uphold for producing golf

grips that set the trends that others follow, and led by the desire to provide genuine performance benefits for golfers, Lamkin’s grips for the new season haven’t disappointed.

Performance Layering

Technology Leading the way for the 2014 range is the most

technologically advanced grip that Lamkin has ever produced, offering the holy grail of grip combinations, extreme comfort and surface tack in the dry and incredible traction in the wet.

“As soon as I felt this grip, I knew it would be

received with tremendous anticipation and excitement”, said Lamkin Grips CEO, Bob Lamkin. “It’s a perfect formula of proven grip materials, but blended in a unique way to provide a performance advantage that is immediately evident”. In development for more than two years, the

Lamkin UTx grip benefits from layering technology that gives a distinct performance

advantage. The UTx grip is made up of three functional layers that, when blended together, create a grip that feels and performs like no other. The foundation of the grip is made of a super tacky and soſter ACE 3GEN material. This layer provides enhanced comfort, giving a golfer a comfortable connection to their clubs throughout their round. The middle of the layer of the UTx is a moisture-wicking fabric weave that when

products is what sets Lamkin apart from the field. With advances in technology that are driven by performance and the largest selection of grip sizes, colors and materials in golf Lamkin has a grip to suit every golfer. The question is, as retailers, how do you help your customers find the Lamkin grip that is right for them..?

Size: Size is the single most important factor when selecting a grip. Lamkin offer four basic grip sizes: Undersize, Standard, Midsize and Oversize. Further customization can be achieved by adding additional layers of tape during installation. There is no magic formula to size. Find out what feels right for the customer. To this end, Lamkin provide shafted sample displays that allow the golfer to feel size differences across a range of grips.

Material: Most grips are made of rubber or synthetic materials. Some new synthetic materials, like Lamkin’s patented ACE 3GEN, also offer superior vibration dampening and long-lasting tackiness. Another option is a grip made with a unique- feeling thermo-plastic material. These grips, like the Lamkin i-LINE, offer a much softer, tacky feel and are available in a wide variety of bold colors.
