“FACILITIES SHOW IS A GREAT PLACE FOR SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES TO UNDERSTAND MORE ABOUT HOW TO MAKE A COMPLEX SPACE WORK FOR THEM AND HOW THEY CAN INCREASE EFFICIENCY”

CAPITAL MOVE

Facilities Show offers schools, universities and colleges the chance to engage with supplies from right across the facilities management sector

Facilities Show, the world’s largest facilities management event, is moving to London this June. The show, now celebrating its 15th year, has grown rapidly due to the increased professionalisation of the sector. The London event, in association with the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM), is expecting to receive record visitor numbers between 17-19 June. “Facilities Show is a great place for schools

and colleges to understand more about how to make a complex space work for them and how they can increase efficiency,” says Fergus Bird, group event manager with UBM Live. “Alongside hundreds of companies showcasing innovative products and services, there are a number of top-class educational theatres.” This year marks a new chapter for the event as it takes

residence in its new home at the ExCel exhibition and conference centre in London’s Royal Victoria Dock. The show said a fond farewell to Birmingham’s NEC in 2013, and this year it will be co-located with the UK’s leading security, fire, safety, energy and service management events and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) conference. It will be the largest global business-to-business event focused on the protection and management of people and buildings. A key reason for the decision to move was access to

the capital’s business opportunities. Show organisers have secured discounted rates with UK transport providers such as Virgin and TFL, as well as with

hotels around ExCel and in the heart of London. In addition to the extensive exhibition showcasing

innovation and product launches, there are numerous special features and networking opportunities available at Facilities Show, including: ✥ BIFM networking hub ✥ Innovation trail ✥ Facilities academy ✥ Speakers’ corner ✥ Dragons’ den ✥ Networking bar ✥ Buddy system ✥ Buying request service

Facilities Show will offer a plethora of quality education sessions that will incorporate seminars, workshops, industry debates and panel sessions along with a whole theatre dedicated to CPD-accredited content. The full programme was not available at the time of going to press, but will be available via the event website (see below) by the time you read this. Companies exhibiting in June include: MITIE

Group, CBRE Norland, PHS Group, Vinci and SGP. In addition to these, Avery UK, Bybox Field Support, Dyson, Panasonic, Mitsubishi Electric, Kingspan Environmental, Helistrat Management, Miko Coffee, Office Depot, Trade Point, Stannah Lifts, Screwfix and Euroworkspace will all be participating at London ExCeL. iE
