IET communities


The IET supports more than 100 local and technical communities located around the world across physical and virtual space. Led by IET members, they provide networking, knowledge sharing, and professional development opportunities through events and online content that is free and open to all.


MyCommunity


Our online professional networking platform enables the collaboration and exchange of knowledge with the wider engineering community. It hosts active Young Professionals communities as well as a dedicated Student Community.


Events, courses and training


Members have access to over 1,500 conferences, seminars, webinars and lectures held annually as well as courses and training ranging from technical competence to management and presentation skills.


Engineering and technology jobs


Students can use our online jobs board to search for that perfect job or upload their CV to be seen by top recruiters.


Volunteering


Volunteering is an excellent way to increase employability skills. The IET has a diverse group of over 1,300 active volunteers engaging and collaborating with each other and the wider profession. We can offer flexible roles to suit all levels of skills and experience as well as time commitment.

Student welfare IET Connect


This is a separate registered benevolent charity that provides help and advice to members of the IET and their families:


n Grants – to help members who may be struggling financially due to exceptional or unforeseen circumstances


n Legal advice – our outsourced legal helpline provides telephone advice from solicitors on a wide range of specialisms such as landlord and tenancy problems, employment, consumer and family law


n Career support – referral to our outplacement scheme for careers support if you are having difficulty finding work after graduation.
