Luggage Mule launches trade site and offers £5 commission per bag Lee Hayhurst
Baggage courier service Luggage Mule has opened up to trade business with its new website. The firm, backed by well-known industry entrepreneurs including On Holiday Group’s Steve Endacott Pure Genie’s Ian Brooks and Rock Insurance’s Antony Martin, is offering agents a new revenue opportunity for couriering bags. The service gives customers the chance to send their bags separately to their holiday destination and so avoid spiralling baggage fees levied by airlines. Director Jordan Makin said agents can sign up on the
Luggage Mule site and start earning money straight away. “It was nice to see people signing up straight away when the site went live,” he said. Agents are given their own login
as well as a unique web address that can be sent to their client database to drive bookings. A sample price is £69.99 to send
a 20kg bag to and from Malaga in early July. Luggage Mule, which uses UPS,

Fedex and TNT courier services, pays about £5 commission per bag for a return service although it hopes to increase this by negotiating better supplier deals. Recent additions to the service
have included vouchers and promotional codes for agent partners to use and a quicker bag tracking service for customers. There are also plans to add
Feefo customer reviews to the site. Luggage Mule has already signed 12 agent or affiliate deals with companies including Purple Parking, Neilson, Perfect Weddings and Oliver’s Travels. Makin said the vast majority of bookings to date had been for ski equipment, after some carriers reduced their luggage allowances. “Come March we will start to get some golf volume and then some beach bookings,” he said.
