teens to geothermal Win $10,000 in scholarships by entering video challenge


college scholarships. All said and done, the GoGoGeo Scholarship Video Challenge will award nearly $60,000 in scholarships and grants to students and participating schools.

Sponsored by Touchstone Energy Cooperatives and geothermal manufacturers ClimateMaster, Bosch and WaterFurnace, the GoGoGeo Scholarship Video Challenge asks students to produce a one to three minute video on geothermal energy. Seven message themes have been created for the contest. Information on the contest website, http://www.GoGoGeoChallenge.com/, provides participants with a general understanding of each theme.


Any high school junior or senior residing in Oklahoma is eligible to participate. Teens may also compete as a team of one to three members

each region will advance to the final competition to compete for even more scholarship dollars. In the final level of competition, the five winners will meet with judges in Oklahoma City for the final scoring and the winner announcement.


Grant money will be awarded to the school in which each first place regional winner is enrolled. The school in which the overall winner is enrolled will receive additional grant money.


"We're excited to promote this opportunity to teens in our area," said Todd Minshall, Kiamichi Electric member services representative."With this contest, plus Kiamichi Electric's Operation Roundup scholarships, teens in southeast Oklahoma stand a good chance of winning some real money to further their education."


Every year Operation Roundup awards from six to eight $500 scholarships to high school graduates s well as second year college students . Funds may be used at any college, university or technical school. Operation Roundup Scholarship applications are available at www.kiamichielectric.org. The deadline to apply is May 17, 2013. ■
