Molly Arp Newell says all is well with her family in the Mississippi

Saturday was spent on the rail at the racetrack, which was great fun; we were joined by Mike Sposili from Alumni Af - fairs and his family. Between Marcello’s knowledge and Danielle’s intuition, a number of winning tickets were cashed in. At the Northwoods apartments the young alumni (also on campus for a day at the races) held an impromptu volley- ball game: boxers vs. briefs. I know we wished for their energy; they were still going long after we called it a day. The campus looks fantastic, lots of new proj- ects going on, and downtown was jump- ing—you should have been there! PERI SNYDERMAN P.O. BOX 122 CHESTER, NY 10918-0122 SPECIALCAT@MSN.COM

Lisa Genn Paton’s husband, Bud, was promoted to a global “work from anywhere near an international air- port” role at IBM, so they moved to At - anta, GA, thanks to Lisa’s own longstand- ing “work from anywhere” position with IBM. Several family members had already relocated to the Atlanta area. They love living on Lake Lanier and enjoy the dra- matic improvement in weather from what they left behind in Connecticut. E-mail lisapaton120@gmail.com if you’re in the Atlanta area and want to catch up. Their four kids are on their own, two in Denver, CO, one in Ft. Myers, FL, and the youngest in Richmond, VA. Lisa says, “Anna, who was very clear while growing up that she did not want to follow my footsteps or her stepfather’s, landed a job at IBM. In June she celebrated her first service anni - versary while mine was number 31.” Bud’s job has him traveling internationally fre- quently; the Patons recently visited Cro - atia, Italy, Turkey, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Fifteen years ago Mary Howard O’Brien

went back to school at the Atelier, a four- year program of classical drawing and painting in Minneapolis. She has been painting commissioned portraits in oil for the past 10 years. She says she loves the challenge of painting, but more impor- tantly, she enjoys getting to know the people of all ages whose portraits she paints. Her favorite painter is Lucian Freud. Mary and husband Gary celebrated their 30th anniversary in March—which, she notes, “is pretty good, considering we knew each other only six months before marrying.” They have four sons, ages 21 to 27. Mary loves her memories of Skid - more and hopes to attend our next reunion.
