T. With these
quantities EE381 calculates the water content x (ppm) in mineral transformer oils. Calculation of water content (ppm) in non-mineral oils and lubrication oils can be achieved by programming the specific parameters of the oil into the EE381. Humidity measurement in oil Similar to the humidity in the air, the water content in oil can be indicated by the absolute value in ppm or by the relative value aw: • ppm (mass of water / mass of oil) • aw (actual water content as fraction of the water content in saturated oil) aw = 0 corresponds to water-free oil, while aw = 1 indicates saturated oil.

Norbar Australia management moves I
mportant structural changes to the management team at Norbar’s representative company in Australia are taking place that also affect Norbar companies in New Zealand and Singapore. Matt Packer is to become Managing Director of Norbar Torque Tools Pty, based in Adelaide, South Australia and with offices in Western Australia, Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales. He is to take over the position from his father Leigh Packer, who will remain Executive Director of the company and be able to devote more of his time to managing Norbar companies in New Zealand and Singapore.
The transition is to take place on the 1st September,
and is part of a long-term succession plan within the company. It comes at a time of growth and strong financial results for Norbar throughout the region, with changes including moves to expanded premises in both Auckland New Zealand (Norbar Torque Tools (NZ) Ltd) and Singapore (Norbar Torque Tools Pte. The usage of compressed air, nitrogen, CO2 or other non-corrosive and non-flammable gases can be measured up to a pressure of 16 bar. Other models are available for measurement up to 40 bar. Immersion depth and orientation are easy to control, guaranteeing accurate measurement results. Measurement accuracy is +/-2.5%. Available outputs for measuring consumption include analogue, switching, or pulse. An optional tapping sleeve is available for installation without supply interruption.

hen the Oregon Coast Aquarium needed a reliable pressure switch for its Ozone Filtration system, they turned to the World Magnetics range of reliable switches. The USA manufacturer, represented exclusively in the UK by Variohm EuroSensor, supplied its DesignFlex PSF103 high current pressure switch to monitor the pressure within the critical filtration system that supplies safe water to the many residents of the Aquarium. One such resident is the rescued Sea Otter pup, Schuster, who is appealingly featured in the attached image.

Storage Tank vent breathers protect sensitive fluids
rownell has extended its range of storage tank vent breathers and adsorbers to prevent the contamination of valuable products from the harmful effects of moisture. Installation of these breathers has been made quick and simple,
with a direct connection to an existing breather or vent pipe. This ensures that any incoming moisture vapour is removed before entering the tank. The effects of air transfer will lead to a dry gas blanket over the stored product. A removable adsorbent container allows the unit’s desiccant material to be changed without breaking the breather pipe connection. Furthermore, a distinctive change in the desiccant’s colour signals when it is saturated and needs to be replaced or reactivated. The colour change is from bright orange to a distinctive dark green. Stored products characteristics can be adversely changed by an increase in moisture content. These effects can include: reduced viscosity, lower electrical insulation, chemical stability and concentration. Some of the range of storage tank vent dryers are suitable for use in aggressive and hostile environments such as the North Sea, and are designed for use with storage tanks containing corrosive fluids such as acid and alkalis.
