Process Indicator/ calibrator
High Precision, Multi-Function Temperature &
he Calog TEMP is a high precision, multi-functional, hand- held temperature indicator and calibrator suitable for the process control industry. The instrument can accept input signals from thermocouple and PRT sensors for highly accurate temperature measurement and also generates such signals as a source for testing and calibrating digital thermometers and temperature controllers. It is configured for thermocouple types

compensation and can measure in °C, °F or Kelvin. It will measure and source RTD sensors. In addition to temperature parameters directly in Engineering units, the instrument has a built-in 24V power supply for interfacing with transmitter loops. The Calog TEMP is powered by a Lihium –Ion rechargeable battery which provides a long operational duty cycle between charges. Its user friendly, compact size and high precision make the Calog TEMP an ideal choice for industrial field or workshop calibration.

he new VEGAFLEX 80 Guided Wave Radar ‘automatically’ delivers versatility and reliability for level and interface measurement in both liquids and solids. This technology is already known for its unerring performance under changing conditions, such as temperature, gases, vapours, density and pressure. Many functions that commonly need manual adjustment with GWR devices are now automated with VEGAFLEX 80, thus improving life-time functionality. For example; on hydrocarbons and liquid gases, automatic systems ensure the low reflectivity level signal is monitored, whilst ignoring any highly reflective water condensate build up beneath. Automated empty vessel mapping ensures on going build up is detected and ignored. For changing product properties and saturated steam, it employs auto-compensation to maintain accuracy. Other systems include; automated overfill protection, dynamic echo tracking, dielectric/moisture content monitoring and probe length/condition detection. These are particularly designed to remove labour-intensive interventions after start up, to maximise safety, increase productivity and reduce costs. Devices are supplied ready calibrated with an optional automated set up wizard, for optimising sensors to level, interface and dielectric measurement.

Siemens enters FZG gear unit partnership with Hayley Group
ollowing on from its recent motors and couplings partnership with engineering distributor Hayley Group, Siemens Industry has again partnered with Hayley for its world leading FZG bevel-helical gear units. This means Hayley Group can now offer a comprehensive range of Siemens
F
motors, heavy duty gear units and couplings from stock, which will significantly benefit customers all over the UK. Hayley Group’s Rod Maden said: “We are the only Siemens national partner to offer ex- stock delivery on Siemens motors up to 315kW around the clock 24/7/365. Now we can offer the highly respected FZG range of gear units in the most popular sizes with a range of ratio, shaft, backstop and mounting options, capable of transmitting input powers up to 170 kW. This makes them ideal for high-power applications within industries like cement, aggregates, quarrying, energy, power generation and utilities.” The Siemens units are available on short lead times from Hayley Group’s 25,000 sq ft engineering facility in Dudley, West Midlands.

E-T-A offers innovative ‘push- in’ terminal block technology
range of terminal blocks with the sockets 80plus, for direct line insertion without tools, and the 81plus. Both can be populated selectively with the pluggable E-T-A thermal-magnetic circuit breaker 2216-S or with the pluggable E-T-A electronic

circuit overcurrent protector REF16-S. The new one-way and side-by-side mountable sockets offer a space-saving overall width of just 12.5mm and can easily be snapped onto a DIN rail. The new E-T-A 80plus is the first socket made by E-T-A with ‘push-in’ technology for direct line insertion. This means that rigid, flexible or compressed wires can be pushed directly into the terminals without any additional tools. The new socket type 80plus has a 6mm² supply terminal, two 4mm² load output terminals and three 1.5mm² signalling terminals. For the new E-T-A 81plus, all terminals are fitted with screw terminals for multi-lead connection: the screw head taking a standard or Phillips screwdriver. The clamps are made of top quality copper alloys ensuring maximum contact forces in minimum space. The type 81plus has a 10mm² supply terminal, a 10mm² load output terminal and three 2.5mm² signalling terminals.

he new Gasmet DX4040 portable multiparameter FTIR gas analyser is now available for hire from Quantitech Limited. For each rental Quantitech’s Dr Hobson configures the instrument to meet the customer’s specific gas monitoring needs. He says: "The DX4040 has brought laboratory grade gas analysis into the field and the availability of a rental system means that even those with a limited budget or a short term requirement can have access to the best technology.” The DX4040 is supplied with a PDA which enables the user to measure up to 25 (user defined) gases simultaneously. However, it also is possible to identify unknown gases in the field when using a new version of the unit's Calcmet™ software on a Windows tablet pc.
