of work: Property Law and Public/Administrative Law. In the latest edition, Chambers UK 2012, Landmark is ranked as a leading set in 8 separate practice areas, placing it as one of the elite sets across the whole of the bar.

Landmark Chambers comprises of 72 barristers who specialise in planning, property, environmental and public law. Of those 72, 21 are QCs. A number of our members of chambers sit as Deputy High Court Judges, Recorders and act as Arbitrators, Experts and Mediators. In our list of junior tenants 17 are members of the Attorney General’s panels of Treasury counsel; four are A panel, four are B panel and nine are C panel. Many senior members are former junior Treasury counsel. A number of members of chambers are members of Bar in Northern Ireland.

We pride ourselves on our ability to offer a comprehensive and user friendly service across all aspects of real estate law. Our expertise includes traditional land law matters, such as conveyancing disputes, mortgages and property finance, restrictive covenants and easements. We comprehensively cover all aspects of commercial and private sector residential landlord and tenant law. By integrating our property expertise with Chambers’ expertise in planning and public law, we are a natural choice for private developers and those involved in public sector infrastructure projects.

In the wider property law sphere, our property practitioners are regularly involved in cases of involving contractual disputes relating to property (particularly overage disputes), nuisance, trespass (including mass trespass) and the property related aspect of professional negligence law. Individual members also have additional specialist expertise in, rights of light, party walls, property aspects of electronic

communications law, manorial rights and village greens.

We have a strong commitment to alternative dispute resolution: our members include acknowledged leaders in the field of rent review arbitration and expert determination. Our 38 specialists, led by 7 QCs, appear frequently in applications for judicial review and subsequent appeals, in the UK and beyond, and have experience of all types of tribunals.

We are recognised for our work across the full range of public law cases. Examples of high profile cases we have been involved in include the Sharon Shoesmith appeal, Ken Livingstone’s challenge to the Standards Board, the Pinochet litigation, the immigration cap judicial review, the Leveson Inquiry and the protestors at Parliament Square and St Paul’s.

Seventeen of our barristers are currently appointed to the Attorney General’s A, B and C panels to advise cen- tral government. Two of our barristers are members of the Welsh Assembly Government’s Panel of Junior Counsel. Three members of chambers are on the Treas- ury Solicitor’s Freedom of Information list of counsel.
