CHAIRPERSON’S FOREWORD

DIRECTOR’S REPORT

INTRODUCTION

DEVELOPMENT OF THIS PLAN

The Drop-in is just one aspect of service delivery and our range of services and geographical reach have grown in the last five years. Developments have been in response to service user needs, evidence based good practice and responding to opportunities which fit Ana Liffey’s competencies. In addition to the work we carried out back in 2007 in Dublin’s North Inner City, in 2011 we also provide the following services:

• Assertive Outreach • Medical Services • Needle and Syringe Programme • Arrest Referral

• A Texting Service and improved Freephone Service.

Outside of Dublin, Needle and Syringe Programmes are now provided in the North East and the Midlands. In Mullingar we provide a dedicated Drop-in service, whilst across the Midlands our team deliver peripatetic services to Under 18 year olds, which includes family support and case management.

Through co-operation with our partner agencies we provide service users access to:

• Pre-entry Groups run by Coolmine Therapeutic Community

• Weekly GP Clinic delivered by Safetynet

• Inreach Services by Threshold Housing and Clancy Night Shelter.

We also work with many other partner agencies across the State.
