As we move into the new year, MCCA has committed to some significant changes that we feel will benefit our valuable supporters. What follows is MCCA’s five-point New Year’s resolution and suggestions on how you can lever- age these changes to help advance your careers in 2011!

In apprecia- tion for the tireless support of these firms, MCCA has launched a new service to assist them in advancing their own diversity. Te Firm Affiliate Network (FAN) is designed to engage a select group of law firms that have already demonstrated a commitment


to diversity. Interested firms are invited to apply for par- ticipation in the program. Te application allows firms to share information about their existing diversity initiatives. Participation in FAN offers a number of valuable benefits, such as: inclusion in a national diverse counsel directory; providing firm attorneys with access to a virtual library of diversity resources; discount rates on postings to MCCA’s new and improved Job Bank; bulk rate subscriptions to MCCA’s Diversity & the Bar magazine; and more! In addi- tion, MCCA will periodically circulate the list of partici- pating FAN firms among our corporate members to assist legal departments in retaining counsel who are committed to diversity. In-house counsel will also have access to the online directory of the diverse attorneys who work at FAN participating law firms. In addition, there will be exclusive networking opportunities for FAN attorneys and MCCA’s in-house counsel network. As a law firm attorney, encouraging your firm to join


FAN can give you the opportunity to be included in the new online directory provided as a resource to in-house counsel. You can also use your firm’s participation in FAN as a marketing opportunity to clients. You will have access to exclusive networking events for FAN attorneys, and if you serve on your firm’s diversity committee, the educa- tional resources available through FAN’s virtual library will be invaluable to your diversity work.
