The Town of La Plata is hereby requesting sealed bids for the replacement of concrete sidewalk and/or replacement of existing concrete sidewalk curb ramp replacement and replacement of curb and gutter various locations in La Plata, Maryland.

This project will be funded by the American Recovery and Rein- vestment Act (ARRA), through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), State Highway Administration (SHA). As a result, this Invitation to Bid includes all general, General/Special Provisions, Standards and Specification from MDOT/SHA. The Specifications for this contract will be those of the Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration Standard Specifications for "Construction and Materials", dated July 2008 (or most current edition) and any Supplemental Specifications or additions thereto.

This project is primarily funded by the State of Maryland and the Federal Government under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 and such work shall be conducted in accordance with their federal and state regulations and standards as referenced in the project specifications. In addition, all contractors shall comply with the following:

1. Executive Order 11246, entitled "Equal Employment Opportunity" as amended by Executive Order 11375, and as supplemented in Department of Labor Regulations (41 CFR Part 60).

3. Sections 103 and 107 of the ContractWork Hours and Safety Standards Act (40 - U.S.C. 327-330) as supplemented by the Department of Labor Regulations (29 CFR Part 5).

All bids should be submitted to the Town of La Plata, 305 Queen Anne Street, La Plata, MD 20646, to the attention of the Director of Operations. The bid shall be sealed in an envelope marked "Bid No. 10-¬01, Do Not Open". Sealed bids shall be received until 3:00 p.m. on August 17, 2010. Immediately after 3:00 p.m. on that date, the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. A Bid Bond equal to 5% of the total bid amount must be submitted with the proposal. A pre-bid meeting will be held July 28, 2010 at 3 pm in the Town Hall at 305 Queen Anne Street, La Plata, Md.This meeting is optional.
