Founded 22 years ago in Dallas, Christopher Martin Gallery, located in the Dallas Design District, has created the perfect atmosphere to present reverse glass paintings and limited editions by Christopher H. Martin. Currently on display are a selection of recent works by Christopher H. Martin and sculptures by Michael Enn Sirvet.
A self-taught artist whose
career spans nearly 25 years, Christopher Martin has mastered the medium of reverse glass painting. Martin expresses a painterly vision of dynamic organic patterns. Animating his vision on the back of clear sheets of Lucite, he layers pat- terns of water and pigment in reverse order to form his com- positions. The clarity of paint on this medium allows for jewel-like coloration and captivating iridescence.
Michael Enn Sirvet is an abstract structuralist artist working in mediums such as wood, acrylic, stone, aluminum and steel. In his pieces, Sirvet restructures nature to show it to people anew. At first glance, Martin’s and Sirvet’s works dis- play a rational balance and an undeniable harmony. Upon con- templation, the pieces reflect an organic sense of existence and a natural ability to transform the spaces that they inhabit.
