Logistics Launches Transportation Project shopping lowest rates

Oracle is implementing the Oracle Transportation Management Cloud Service (OTM), an industry-leading transportation software solution. In 2004, the Exchange deployed
a TMS solution to balance costs, im- prove visibility of the CONUS sup- ply chain and automate the freight bill audit function. This system has reached the end of its life cycle and cannot be upgraded. The goal of re- placement is to improve the supply chain integration, including inbound and outbound planning and multi- modal transportation.
High-level benefits of OTM:
• Manage, optimize and pay transportation in one system
• Save in transportation spend by optimizing routes and

• Collaborate with other agen- cies to fully utilize equipment and save money
• Collect and profile transporta- tion costs to provide a better view of the true costs of prod- ucts distributed by the Exchange
The TMS project will consist of four phases over 28 months:
• Design and discovery • Phase 1: Inbound planning and execution/freight pay- able and cost allocation
• Phase 2: Outbound planning and execution from CONUS West Coast DC/freight pay- able and cost allocation
• Phase 3: Outbound planning and execution from OCONUS European DC
The TMS team is currently in the
design and discovery phase and is con- ducting ongoing workshops, breakout sessions and stakeholder interviews to help develop a change management strategy for TMS implementation.
