Support for Soldiers Deployed to Cameroon S
upport for Soldiers and Airmen during deployment is one of the
top priorities of the Exchange. No matter where troops are stationed, or how big or small the mission, the Exchange provides a lifeline for troops living far away from the com- forts of home. Recently, the Exchange opened an
imprest fund in Garoua, Cameroon. This effort is a major logistic mile- stone, coordinating with U.S. Army Africa and Ramstein AB, to expand the reach into Africa. Soldiers waited in line for the doors to open so they could stock up
on their favorite snacks and other items from home. While first-day sales may seem
small compared to those of large Exchanges ($2,300), for the 300 Soldiers deployed from the 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga to Operation Grey Eagle, it was a huge morale boost.
❛The Exchange is that one constant thread that ties us back to home.❜ —CPT Zachery Moss
