ROAD TRIP WORTH TAKING: Fly South This Summer!

#SNOWPROS #ROADTRIP

If you’ve got a bucket list, then it most assuredly has “Go skiing and snowboarding in South America” written somewhere near the top. Well, a trip to Portillo, Chile, this summer can help you cross off that must-do. One of the most storied destinations in all of ski-dom, the Hotel Portillo feels like a grand cruise ship perched on the sparkling blue water of the Lake of the Incas, surrounded by stunning peaks in every direction you look. It’s also a ski and snowboard instructor’s mecca, where PSIA Alpine Team Coach Michael Rogan acts as mountain manager and Alpine Team member Robin Barnes directs the ski and snowboard school. Check out Skiportillo.com for more information.

WHAT ABOUT YOUR TEACHING STYLE STANDS OUT?

WHAT IS YOUR

)$925Ζ7( $*( GROUP TO TEACH AND WHY?

I teach with the maximum level of patience anyone could muster.

40- to 50- year-olds because they are either doing it as a way to stay in shape or because they want to impress their spouse or kids.

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST

ACCOMPLISHMENT AS AN INSTRUCTOR?

&RQYHUWLQJ P\ fiDQF« from a skier to a snowboarder. I know instructors aren’t supposed to teach VLJQLfiFDQW RWKHUV but she said she saw me clearly go from boyfriend mode to instructor mode.

My enthusiasm and passion for skiing. I like to keep my lessons full of energy and experiences.

8- to 11-year-olds. They're enthusiastic, competitive, and they like to go fast.

Passing my Alpine III cert this past season; it's opened up some real opportunities for me.

I listen compassionately, have a good eye, and have a big bag of tricks to draw from. And I can patiently say the same thing again and again but a little GLffHUHQWO\ DOO WKH ZKLOH letting their fun meter spike.
