ELEVATED ELATION: Kerri Walsh Jennings has three gold medals in beach volleyball, but she never jumped higher than when celebrating the bronze medal she won with April Ross. (Photo: FIVB)
“I have a new appreciation for that match. In all of sports, the bronze-medal match has to be one of the gnarliest. We were there for gold, and we lost in a way that to me is the most heartbreaking way to lose, which is almost giving it away. Nothing was working in the semifinals, and that’s just a bummer. The bronze-medal match – at the time – felt like the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my athletic career by far.” — Kerri Walsh Jennings on the bronze-medal match
“It feels so scientific, but I want to have a kid as soon as possible. You have to think in four
year blocks as a beach volleyball player. So you never know what mother nature has in mind. Eight week wait time for Zika. Have a kid as fast as possible and then come back and get started
