Women’s U18 Continental Champion- ship. The USA held a 2-0 set lead in the title match before Dominican Republic rallied to win in five sets in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The U.S. Women, however, did earn a berth into the 2017 FIVB Women’s U18 World Championship by virtue of its second-place finish.

First place votes for Nebraska in AVCA Divi- sion I Women’s Collegiate


Volleyball poll released in August. The Huskers started the season with seven straight wins and remained No. 1, receiving all 64 votes in the Sept. 12 poll. Nebraska also owned a key early-season victory over preseason No. 2 Texas.


Matches for the U.S. Women’s National Team in the 2017 FIVB World Grand Prix in Group I, including a rematch with Olympic gold medalist China (twice) and Italy in the first phase of the event. The tournament is the premier an- nual international women’s volleyball tournament and the 2017 edition marks the first major event following the 2016 Olympic Games in which the Americans finished with the bronze medal.
