RAMBLER SPOTTING
Maria Fox (BSN ’16) and Gustavo Arreguín Mendoza (BA ’16) never met during their time as undergraduates at Loyola. But after graduation both found themselves in Bolivia—Fox as a year-long coordinator at a rural primary care clinic and Mendoza on a two-month internship at a non- profit he’s been volunteering with for the past three years. While visiting the Incan ruins of El Fuerte in Santa Cruz the two had a chance encounter, thanks to Mendoza sporting some Loyola attire. “My LUC shirt got Maria to ask me if I’d graduated from [Loyola],” he says. “We found out we’d both graduated last May and were both involved in global health initiatives. Just two lil’ Ramblers getting lost in service in the Andes.”
