Webb and Hawkins, along with runners-up Cadlyn Smith, Merritt High School and Cas- sidy Kelly, Erick High School, submitted essays on the topic “Is there something you believe is WUXO\ ZRUWK ¿JKWLQJ IRU"´ The essay had to be no less than 500 words and it was to persuade others this cause is worth ¿JKWLQJ IRU $ SDQHO RI TXDOL¿HG individuals judged the essays on knowledge of subject, originality, com- position, and grammar. Youth Tour is an all-ex- pense paid week touring the nation’s capital with more than 70 Youth Tour winners from other Oklahoma electric coop- eratives.


NFEC also recognized the


students’ teachers, who encour- aged them to participate in the Youth Tour competition. The teachers were each given $100 for their classrooms.


Those teachers include Jo


Ediger, Elk City, Sarena Kauk, Leedey High School, Judith Bollinger, Merritt High School, and Robyn Whaley, Erick High School.


This year Youth Tour is June 9 through June 15.
