Any co-op member may run for a position on the ECE board if they meet certain qualifications. ECE bylaws list qualifications to serve as trustee, plus other important information about the governance of your cooperative.
KLOECKLER VERNNON
ECE members nominate candidates for trustee at district meetings, which are held every three years. If more than one candidate is nominated per district, the winner is decided in a general election at the ECE Annual Meeting.
KLOECKLER
Cooperative trustees meet once a month at ECE headquarters in Okmulgee. They also devote many additional hours of time reading and staying abreast of industry issues and regulations that can affect your electric rates. Professional development training through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association ensures trustees understand co-op financing, legal issues, state and federal regulations, and other important matters facing the electric utility industry.
