he Elevate Summit for Young Adults will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, at the


MidAmerica Expo Center in Pryor, Oklahoma. The day-long event is designed to expose young adults, ages 16 to 24, to career opƟ ons in high demand occupaƟ ons.


The Northeast Oklahoma Elevate Summit for young adults is an annual event envisioned in 2009 by the members of the Governor’s Council for Economic and Workforce Development and members of the Northeast Workforce Board. The Northeast Oklahoma Workforce Board, in partnership with area organizaƟ ons, will host the event in Pryor and focus on the communiƟ es of northeast Oklahoma serving Craig, Delaware, Mayes, Nowata, OƩ awa, Rogers, and Washington counƟ es.


ParƟ cipants will hear from keynote speaker Bill Cordes as he explores the employability skills needed to succeed in the work place through engaging and hands-on learning. Since 1988, Bill Cordes has keynoted programs for conferences, convenƟ ons, schools, and universiƟ es naƟ onwide. His programs have been delivered in 49 states and Canada to nearly 3 million parƟ cipants. He has authored and co-authored six books for teens and college students. His college program "YOGOWYPI University" teaches and challenges nearly 20,000 college freshman each year to maximize their college experience. In his programs, Bill combines humor, energy, enthusiasm, and wisdom to create an engaging experience that promotes "beƩ er ways to live our days.” Bill is a former teacher, coach, and television talk show host.


Elevate parƟ cipants will be given the opportunity to explore various career paths as they visit with exhibitors from businesses and training providers throughout northeast Oklahoma. Industry experts will be available to answer quesƟ ons about speci⇒ c career pathways including manufacturing, business, healthcare, and the automoƟ ve industry, and will be available to provide insight into their speci⇒ c ⇒ elds of experƟ se.


Each year the event presents career and educaƟ onal opportuniƟ es to over 200 young adults. The event is coordinated through the Northeast Workforce Board in partnership with numerous community agencies including Cherokee NaƟ on Career Services, Talking Leaves Job Corp, VocaƟ onal Rehab, and Oklahoma Employment Security Commission/Oklahoma Works.


The event is sponsored by many businesses in northeast Oklahoma. Sponsorship and exhibitor registraƟ ons are sƟ ll available and create a tremendous opportunity for businesses, training providers, and community agencies to make a signi⇒ cant impact in the lives of young adults in northeast Oklahoma.
