Your fi rst step is to download Tripadvisor. This free app should be your go-to travel planner. Tripadvisor has a massive collection of reviews, photos and ratings shared by users like you from all over the world. This makes it easy not only to search for fl ights, but also to select the best hotels and attractions—all based on photos and reviews from people who’ve been there.
Plenty of apps claim to be perfect travel planning tools. Tripadvisor stands out by being both easy to use and highly adaptable.

Once you start booking fl ights and reserving hotels, keeping track of ev- erything can quickly become overwhelming. This is where TripCase comes to the rescue. Free to download, TripCase puts all of your travel documen- tation, confi rmation numbers and reservations into one central hub. You can manually add any important information to the app yourself. If you’re feeling less tech-savvy you can also forward your email confi rmations di- rectly to TripCase and have them automatically added to your itinerary. A favorite feature of TripCase is the timeline-based itinerary view. Here you can see each step of your trip clearly laid out for you.

The only thing left to get ready now is you. Packing for even a short trip can still be a hassle. Should you take a jacket? A swimsuit? Nobody wants to discover they are missing an essential item when they are far from home. For $2.99 the PackPoint app will help you put together a customized packing list for any occasion.
PackPoint checks the weather at your destination to determine what you’ll actually need while you’re gone. You can also customize your packing lists based on the activities you’ll be participating in on your trip. There is a free version of PackPoint available, which may be all the help you need, but it lacks some of the list customization options of the premium version. If you’re undecided, it couldn’t hurt to check out the free version before deciding if PackPoint is right for you.

This travel expense app will help you budget and track your expenses on the fl y. The app allows you to classify your spending by type and currency. This way you’ll know exactly how much you spent at all those fancy restaurants. For $1.99 you can upgrade to the pro version of the app. This unlocks the
ability to calculate foreign currency and export your budget report as an Excel or plain text fi le for your records.
