Local NWTF Chapters Plan Hun ng Heritage Events M


ark your calendar and get your  ckets now for two local Hun ng Heritage Banquets.


The Mayes County Longbeards and the Grove Gobblers chapters of the Na onal Wild Turkey Federa on (NWTF) will each be hos ng banquets to raise money for projects that conserve wildlife and preserve Oklahoma’s hun ng heritage.


“These chapters host annual banquets, and every year is be er than the one before,” said Don Chitwood, Regional Director for Eastern Oklahoma. “It’s the best opportunity in town to meet other people who care about conserva on while enjoying good food, good music and good fun.”


The Mayes County banquet will be held March 30 at the Graham Community Hall, 6 North Adair, Pryor, OK 74361. The Grove banquet will be August 19 at the First Chris an Church, Fourth & Grand, Grove, OK 74344. Dinners start at 7:00 p.m., but arrive at 5:30 p.m. to enjoy a social hour before the banquets begin. Families can play games and enter raffl es to win a number of prizes, including guns. Both organiza ons will be giving away 12 - 15rifl es, shotguns and pistols which include a Mossberg

Corporate sponsor tables that seat eight people cost $650 and include a corporate sponsor gi . Couple’s  ckets are $65 and single  ckets are $50. All  cket prices include admission, dinner and a single one-year NWTF membership.


Local and state NWTF chapters host thousands of similar events na onwide each year to raise funds that help conserve wildlife and habitat, and introduce new people to the outdoors. Many families enjoy hun ng together and pass tradi ons on from one genera on to another. Hun ng also is important for the health of our na on’s wildlife and habitat because hunters fund conserva on.
