Kay Electric Annual Meeting Friday, April 7, 2017 • Blackwell High School Auditorium

N

ot every electric utility invites its customers to participate in its annual meeting, vote for the members of the board of directors, and voice their opinions about the way the business is run.

Kay Electric Cooperative does. That’s because you don’t belong to just any electric utility. Kay Electric is a cooperative, which means it is owned by the consumers who buy its electricity.

of trustees. Nominees are selected at district meetings and voted on by the entire membership at the Kay Electric Annual Meeting. Because Kay Electric abides by important cooperative principles, it is democratically controlled. Each member gets one vote.

• Prizes • Live Music • Free MeaL • Join us!

Kay Electric doesn’t sell shares of stock so your cooperative isn’t controlled by out of town stockholders. Instead, you control it, along with the other 3,647 members who buy electricity from Kay Electric.

With that control comes certain responsibility. It’s your job as a member to elect individuals to represent your interests on the Kay Electric board

ANNUAL MEETING Grand Prize Giveway

Attend the Kay Electric Annual Meeting on April 7 and you could win this Z915E 54-inch zero turn mower by John Deere. With 25HP gas-powered engine, 7-iron deck, and professional grade seats, this mower gets the job done!

Members must be present to win, so be sure to stick around for the evening. We’re giving away other prizes, too, so don’t miss it.

The annual meeting offers the best opportunity for you to visit with your co-op employees and directors, ask questions, review financial statements, and learn about issues that affect your electric service.

Aside from important business, the Kay Electric Annual

Meeting is also fun. Members enjoy a free catered meal, live music, prizes, and a chance to mingle with friends and neighbors you might not see very often.
